Characters

Muskmallow is a short-lived perennial. This plant has a woody base, with freely branching stems. The leaves are lobed, palmately divided almost to the base with 5–7 lobes. The terminal flowers appear throughout the summer. They are white, pink or darker with a faintly musky scent.

Used For

Leaves may be eaten raw as a lettuce substitute or steamed. Flowers may be added to salad.
