Fast-growing herbs, all are fragrant perennials. Some have flowers in a terminal cluster on top of the stem and others are lateral, forming a ring around the stem. Their corollas range from white to mauve. Stems are square or angled, a character typical of the mint family. Leaves are ovate and toothed.

Used For
All make excellent teas. Spearmint is sweeter and softer, but all may be used to make mint jelly – a delicious meat accompaniment.
Cautions
Dried mints are stronger than fresh mints. Use less of dried than of fresh.
