Characters

Small in stature, these little plants are unarmed with bristles or thorns. They extend from creeping rhizomes, their short branches partly buried in moss. The roughened leaves are divided into several crenulate lobes. Solitary white flowers are either staminate or pistillate. Staminate flowers (pollen donors) of course do not produce fruit. The fruit resembles a soft watery orange raspberry.
